1992 ICCCIA Conference
Sloss Historic Furnaces — Birmingham, Alabama, USA
Overview
The 1992 conference at Sloss Historic Furnaces represented the second major gathering of the emerging cast iron art community and demonstrated the growing momentum of the conference model established in 1988. Returning to Birmingham reinforced Sloss as a critical early hub for contemporary iron casting in the United States.
Building on the foundational work of the first conference, the 1992 event expanded technical experimentation, increased artist participation, and strengthened the collaborative culture that would define ICCCIA’s long-term identity.
