Rebecca Flis, 2025 Secretary of ICCCIA

Rebecca A. Flis is a multi-faceted artist and educator living and working in Schenectady, NY. She received her BFA with minors in Art Education and Art History from Alfred University [2014] and her MFA in Sculpture from SUNY Albany [2018]. Rebecca’s original love is cast metal, but since the COVID-19 lockdowns, she has expanded her creative practice to include a multitude of other mediums. Rebecca’s work oscillates between two ends of a spectrum, two parts of a dichotomy—exploring serious and lighthearted themes and topics side-by-side to capture the full human emotional experience.

Rebecca is also passionate about dung-molding, a natural mold-making process used in some ancient cultures, and has taught dung-mold workshops up and down the East Coast USA as well as in Latvia and Germany. In her free time, Rebecca is an avid bowler and board game enthusiast. However, she gets the most enjoyment from running the sculpture program at Buck's Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp each summer.
